Spreading the Joy of Mexican Folk Dance
in Manchester
Mancunians can struggle in one of six ways...
1
No way to enjoy authentic Mexican culture
2
No way to socialise with other fans of Mexico
3
No way to practice Spanish in real-life scenarios

4
No way to learn authentic Mexican dancing
5
A homesickness for Mexico, Central and South America
6
No way to keep fit while celebrating culture and history
We spread the joy in three ways

Why join?
Everyone in The Manchester Mexican Folk Group knows you are the kind of person who wants to express yourself through dance and soak up the culture of Mexico while living in Manchester. To be this way; you need a community to belong to, of people who are in the exact same position as you and with the same passions. The problem is Manchester is far from Mexico, and you need some buddies to fill the dance floor with, a problem which would make anybody feel lonely, bored and frustrated with what’s missing in Manchester.
The Manchester Mexican Folk Group believes that nobody in Manchester should have to long for Mexico. No Mancunian should go without the opportunity to learn to dance or perform traditional, authentic Mexican Folk Dancing. No Mancunian should go without the opportunity to practice Spanish or to build a community of likeminded enthusiasts. We understand life gets lonely and you need a little Mexican folk to keep you ready and steady.
That’s why, everybody in The Manchester Mexican Folk Group meet every week to learn and practice Mexican Folk Dancing in Spanish and in English (for the non-Spanish speakers). We also dance on stage for anyone who is willing to embrace the joy and romance of Mexico.
Here’s how it works – get in touch via email, come along to a dance class, embrace the community and enjoy performing on stage too, if you’d like to take up this opportunity.
So, contact us so you can stop dreaming of Mexico and start enjoying how we bring authentic Mexican folk, language and culture to Manchester.
